This ergonomic, great looking, optical mouse is perfect for those who don't like too many buttons. If you are a fan of multiple buttons look elsewhere, but if not, this is the mouse to have.Set up:
There's really nothing to set up. Plug it into an open USB port, and start using it. With USB being hot pluggable, you don't even need to shut down the computer while doing this. It doesn't get any simpler than this.
Usage:One of the greatest things about this mouse is the entire top acts like a button. This means, people of all size hands, with all strengths, can hit it the way they like. Also, it produces more proficient button clicking, and extra precise clicks.
To go along with that, Apple has done away with the puck shape, and has taken on a more elliptical pill or button shape. This is just what users were asking for. The mouse just feels right in your hand, and doesn't turn at odd angles like the puck did. Not to mention those of us with bigger hands can finally use Apple's mouse without discomfort.
One thing many mouse manufacturers miss when creating their mice, is whether left handers, as well as right handers can use their mice with ease. Luckily, Apple's design is so great, that even if you had a third hand, with no opposable thumbs, you would be able to use this mouse just as easily as anyone else.
Another great feature is the tension setting. If you turn the mouse over, there is a ring around optical light, which has three settings, -, 0, and +. As you go from left to right, the button gets increasingly harder to press. Once again, this is great for people of all strengths. At the lightest setting, you can click very quickly, while at the heavy setting, you can rest your hand on the mouse, without fear of accidental clicks. This is something every mouse manufacturer should adopt.
Speaking of that optical light, Apple has worked on this to make it one of the most precise optical mice to date. Shooting its beam about 15% faster than most optical mice, it produces a super fine 400 dpi resolution. Most ball mice have resolutions that range from 150-300 dpi, so 400 dpi is awesome. No more skips, jumps, or hops when mousing around.
However, the biggest, and only, downside to this mouse is that it only has one mouse button. With contextual menus in nearly all applications these days, having only one button slows down your computing experience. Also, a lack of a scroll wheel is kind of a bummer. I love scrolling through long pages without much mouse movement. If Apple were to modify this mouse to have two buttons, and a scroll wheel, they would have the best mouse on the market.
Problems:No problems were encountered while using the mouse.
Conclusion:With the optical technology, ergonomic pill shape, adjustable tension, and out of the box usability, you cannot get a better one button mouse. Start mousing in style with the Apple Pro Mouse.

Arbitrary Quote - I finally came up with a punishment for the boy. First, no leaving the house, not even for school. Second, no egg nog. In fact, no nog period! And third, absolutely no stealing for three months!
