Limewire 1.7
System Requirements: PowerMac with MRJ (JAVA) installed Price: $0
Limewire is a Java application that uses the gnutella network to find music, videos, pictures, and more. It's actually quite easy to use, even with a totally un-Mac like interface. It connects to the servers quite fast, searches are fast, and it has a ton of options. This is my new file finding program of choice.
ConvertImages 1.5
System Requirements: PowerMac with Mac OS 9.0 or later Price: $0
Convert Images is a simple to use program that will take 72dpi images, and convert them to higher resolutions. This way, you can quickly print out images from your digital camera. Also, you can add text to your images. Very plain, but if you are looking for a no frills, quick way to enhance your images for printing, look at this program.
Amazing Slow Downer
System Requirements: PowerMac with Mac OS 8.1 or later Price: $40
The Amazing Slow Downind will take MP3, WAV, AIFF, or audio cds, and speed up or slow down the playing rate, without changing the pitch. This means you can listen to your favorite songs, hearing each word much better (I don't know how well that will work for rap), and it will sound like it is supposed to. A unique program that is way overpriced.
Email Cleaner 2.1
System Requirements: PowerMac Price: $15
You ever get Forwarded or replied email messages, and the lines breaks are all worng, or they have a bunch of extra characters in it? Are you really annoyed by that? Then you need Email Cleaner to the rescue. Email cleaner will clean up your emails by removing those extra characters, and putting the line breaks where they belong. No more trying to decipher emails again. As an added bonus, Email Cleaner contains a built in HTML optimizer.
Remember? 3.4r3
System Requirements: Mac OS 7.0 or later, Mac II or later Price: $20
Remember is a program that stores important dates, runs in the background, and notifies you of the upcoming events. This is a great way to remember birthdays, meetings, anniversaries, and whatever else you like. It's highly customizable, and very stable. However, this one trick pony is kinda overpriced. Besides that, it's a great program.

Speed Download 1.1.1
System Requirements: Mac OS 8.6 or later with CarbonLib Price: $15
Speed Download is a utility that claims to accelerate file downloads by opening multiple connections to a server. To my suprise, it actually works! While modem users won't be able to cram anything more through their lines, cable, DSL, and LAN users will love this program. For example, I downloaded a file at 20 KB/sec with IE, then downloaded another file form that exact same server, at about160 KB/sec! If it wasn't for the quirky interface, and kinda high price, this would get a perfect 5.
Keys Off 1.3.2
System Requirements: Mac OS 7.0 or later Price: $10
Keys Off is a nearly perfect security program. It can disable keystrokes, mouse movements, the power key, disk insertions, and even the shift key at startup. By combining all of its features, you can make your Mac very secure. However, its one major flaw is someone can get into your machine by starting up from another disk. This means is you have people arround who don't know the Macintosh platform, your Mac will be totally secure. But if there are some who know it well, watch out!
Web Confidential 3.0b7
System Requirements: Mac OS 9.0 or later with CarbonLib Price: $20
Web Confidential is a very handy little utility that stores your internet user ids, passwords, serial numbers and so much more. It's super secure, with up to 448-bit encryption, so all of your data will truly be safe. Plus, it will generate secure passwords, just incase you can't think of any. A great way to remember all you passwords, and to keep those bad guys away.
Picture Tuner 0.98b3
System Requirements: PowerMac with Mac OS 8.6 or later Price: $14.95
Picture Tuner is a peer-to-peer picture sharing program. It works kind of like Gnutella, where pictures are stored and hosted on your computer, and found via this program. This keeps you form having to upload your pictures to a server, and you have complete sctrol over which pictures you want to include. However, this program is really difficult to use, and even once you find out how to find to add pictures, it's harder yet to get people to find your pictures. Worse yet, there is no search feature, and most of the categories have no pictures. A program with potential, that's not even close to worth the price.
Ghost Hunter 2.1
System Requirements: PowerMac with Mac OS 7.6 or later Price: $15
Ghost Hunter is a handy little application that finds, delete, and edits invisable and locked files. You can change their attributes, contents, or get rid of them all together. Any easy way to get rid of those hidden files cluttering up your hard drive, and those invisable 'registration' prefs from various shareware programs.
Pigments of the Web 1.0.1
System Requirements: None Specified Price: $0
Pigments of the Web is a handy little application that will convert Hex colors to Web safe colors on the fly. Instead of looking it up on a chart, or trying to find the value on the web page, this program can be launched, and used to find your color very quickly. Built in support for the Mac OS Color wheel, and immediate conversion from HEX to HTML is what sets it apart from the rest.
Lemon 1.0
System Requirements:Mac OS 8.5 or later, Quicktime Price: $0
Lemon is a very cool utility that will create seamless backgrounds for use in webpages. No more judging where you should cut and edit. Paste an image into the box, select the area you want the pattern from, and hit the button. It's really that simple. A very good tool for web designers.
METAL 1.7.2
System Requirements: PowerMac with Mac OS 8.1 or later and CarbonLib Price: $0
METAL is a free extended BASIC programing environment. There's not too much to this probgram, but with the right skills, you can make very cool programs with it. If you are new to programming, the BASIC programming language is one of the easiest to learn. And the price of this compared to Metrowerks CodeWArrior or RealBasic makes it very appealing to the first time programmer (or someone looking to get back to BASIC). While it is still a little rough around the edges, it's coming along very nicely.
InstantCalc 1.5
System Requirements: Mac OS 7.6.1 or later (with appearance manager) Price: $10
InstantCalc brings us an entirely new way of doing calculations with our computer. Instead of opening up a seperate calculator, just type your formula into any text editing application that supports the clipboard, hit the special hotkey, and let InstantCalc take over. It will take your formula, copy it into the clipboard, do the calculations, and then place the answer where your cursor is. Everything from normal calculations, to chemistry calculations (with the elements' mass), to programming calculations, and even economics. This thing may be the future of computer calculators.
nCalc 1.2
System Requirements: Mac OS 8.5 or later Price: $0
nCalc is a great program for PowerBook users who hate turning on the num lock key every time they want to use the built in keypad. With this program, you can finally avoid that. It has more options than Apple's included calculator desktop accessory, and makes it easy to use for road warriors to use a calculator on their PowerBooks. An ingenous idea, with an even more ingenous implementation.

Arbitrary Quote - I finally came up with a punishment for the boy. First, no leaving the house, not even for school. Second, no egg nog. In fact, no nog period! And third, absolutely no stealing for three months!
