Sys Menu 1.0 ![]() | |
| System Requirements: Mac OS 8.5 or later | Price: $15 |
| Sys Menu is a control panel that will add extra items to your menu bar. Open folders, change system settings, launch application, and more.. With subfolders, and complete customizability, you can set up this control panel any way you like. Plus, with plugins, you can make it do special things, for different applications. However, I have to give it a lower rating, because it's an extra load on your system, that you don't really need. Other than that, it works great. | |

ICQ 2.5b ![]() | |
| System Requirements: PowerMac or 68k | Price: $0 |
| ICQ is a small application that acts somewhat like and Instant Messanger, with some nice extra features. For instance, it takes up less memory and system resources, has message waiting when you aren't signed on, and includes free email. However, it doesn't have some other nice features like a stock ticker (yes, I like that), and makes you remember a huge string of numbers for your 'name' (mine is:107085458). But, with such a large user database, it can be hard to ignore. | |

You can set it up so the window will come up when you want, or every time you start up your Mac. However, editing dates can be a challenge. Geometry Calculator 1.5.1 ![]()
| System Requirements: 68k or PowerMac with Mac OS 7.6 or later, including Mac OS X | Price: $19 |
| Geometery Claculator will take shapes, and calculate area and surface area. It can do this in nonspecific units, or convert units to metric, engligh, etc. While it does work good, I think the $19 price is unreasonable for what it does. If it included parameter, length, centery of mass/gravity, center of inertia, volume, etc, then it might be worth it. But the few calculations it does doesn't even justify a $3 price let alone a $19 price tag. | |

| MaxNews is a very useful program for those people who use usenet services. It contains the ability to reply and forward by mail, Contact list, Authentican for posting, ROT-13 encoding/decoding, and even veiwing usenet messages offline. That last of which being the most helpflu as it can grab the latest posting from your favorite boards, save them to a disk, and have them ready for later veiwing. A program such as this is a must if you are a usenet regular. | |

With it's easy to use interface, major customization, and being an application (instead of a control panel or extension), this is the perfect application for Macs being used as servers. But, it also has a use for those not using it as a server. You can check out how much time you or someone else is on your computer, see the exact time of crashes (helpful if you are away), and much more. All in all, a very useful program.

Try this program to make sure your System Folder isn't messed up by another installation.
