Christmas Wish List 2000

With Christmas quickly approaching, I have begun to think about what I want for Christmas. While I doubt I'll get everything on this list (or anything on the list for that matter), It's always fun to dream. Plus, Maybe I'll strike a chord in you, so you have a brand new idea for a fellow Mac user, or even yourself. So, in no particular order, here is my Christmas List 2000.

Voodoo 5 5500: The ultimate in current video card technology, this thing will pump out more polygons than you ever thought possible. With it's dual processor technology, and superior Full Screen Anti Aliasing, this bad boy is all the rage in games today. With the Voodoo 5 5500, your games will run faster, smoother, and look much much better. This card is the perfect stocking stuffer for your gaming friends.

500 MHz Powerbook: The cream of the crop when it comes to mobile computing. The top of the line Powerbook provides a super fast processor, tons of hard drive space, DVD, long battery life, and any kind of connection you need. Play games, watch movies, or just type out your latest report on this sleek, stylish machine. It would be a very merry Christmas if this was under the tree.

22" Apple Cinema Display: Everyone needs more screen real-estate. Whether it be for games, graphics work, or seeing how much bigger your monitor is over your TV, this display has it all. It combines a crisp beautiful LCD screen, and a wonderful looking closure with a very hefty price tag. Only those that have won the lottery can afford this baby, but the rest of us can still drool, can't we?

FireWire/USB Card: While this is most useful to those of us with older Macs, a FireWire/USB combination card can work wonders for anybody. Giving you extra bandwidth, connectivity, and one less PCI slot, these cards are sure to come in handy. Want high speed, hot pluggable connectivity for hard drives, CD burners, and camcorders? You need FireWire. Want hot pluggability, decent speed, and up to 127 devices for scanners, printers, and mice? You need USB. Either way, these cards will get you to the next dimension of peripherals.

Digital Camera: All the rage right now in photography is in digital cameras. These things started off with low quality and quantity of pictures, to go along with a sky-high price tag. Luckily, prices have fallen, and the technology has gotten tremendously better over the years. In fact, Digital camera's will now take pictures that look just as good as film camera's, and can store an infinite amount at long as you have flash cards. If you are into photography, or want to get away from the film developing process, you want a digital camera.

Games, Games, and more Games: How many games can one person play? As many as he gets! This year has been a great year for Mac gaming. Diablo II, The SIMs, Baulder's Gate, Deus Ex, Driver, and even and assortment of great board games have all come to the Mac. You are sure to find your perfect time waster in this lineup of entertainment titles. Just make sure you don't miss work or school playing these overly-addictive things.

Dual 500 MHz G4: Do I need to say anything more than "Mmmm two G4's, ::drooling::"? Well, ok, maybe a little. With two G4's, most hard drive space than you can shake a stick at, up to 1.5 GB RAM, and easy upgradability, this is every Mac user's dream machine. If you're looking for the superior computer, look no further than the Dual 500 MHz G4.

Ever since the birth of the iMac, Mac users have had an ever increasing multitude of Christmas gifts to choose from. It's almost as if we are getting too many choices (yeah, suuuuuure). But remember, Christmas isn't all about receiving (only about 99.38%, hehe), it's also about giving. If you get your dream machine, all the games in the world, or that perfect peripheral, don't forget to give the person a nice thank you note ;). Happy Holidays!
