One area where the Macintosh world is definitely not lacking in is the forums. We have forums all over the place, talking about everything you could imagine (and sometimes things you couldn't). If you have been looking for a place to talk about your favorite OS, or just relax and chat with some great people, you have come to the right place. I'll give you the information you need to decide where you want to go.
Accelerate Your Mac: One of the oldest forums out there, which just recently converted to all new software and servers. This is the place to go if you are looking for technical information. Always with the thought of a supped up Mac in everyone's minds, this place is great for finding information on speeding up your Mac. Watch out though, some of the stuff talked about there can really make your head spin.
MacAddict: The MacAddict forums are some of the most active forums around. With hundreds of people posting here everyday, you can certainly find something interesting. Unfortunately, they seem to be riddled with people whom you would never want to meet, and especially not get to know. Lately, MacAddict has turned into a place of flaming (bashing other people for no reason) more than it is to communicate.
MacCentral: This is the only forum I have listed that does not use the Ultimate Bulletin Board. Although they have recently updated their software to dispel the trolls (PC people who come looking to fight), some still manage to show up. Also, the way their board is setup, it's very easy to loose your message, and sometimes very hard to follow. Nevertheless, this can be a nice place to just chat.
MacFixIt: One of the best technical support boards around. If I ever need help with something, this is the first, and usually only place I go for it. They have hundreds of thousands of posts all aimed at solving problems. Unfortunately, it's little more than a tech support board. But heck, we don't need any fun with our troubleshooting, do we?
Mac Gamer's Ledge: If you play games with your Mac, this is the place to go. Although relatively new, MGL has a great user base, which meant it took off very quickly. If you are a hardcore Mac gamer, you need to check this forum out.
MaccNN: This has to be the most diverse forum I have seen. With topics on everything in the Mac world, it's a great place for information. Plus, it seems as if many PC users stray away from this forum, and ideas (even off the wall ones) are not smashed into the ground. Great for newbies, average users, and tech heads alike.
MacParty: A very new forum, that takes Mac talk to a different level. The whole idea behind this place is to have fun. No matter what you want to talk about, or what your views are on this or that, this is a great place to let your voice be heard. While still somewhat small in size, it's gaining new members all the time. Plus, members usually do not leave too fast, as it's an easy place to follow.
TechSurvivors: The newest board on the list, but already has a large support base. By taking the minimalist approach, members have only one place to post. While this can cut down on topic area visits, it increases the traffic in that single place, which can cause loss of threads. Nevertheless, the people there are great, and it's the only forum mentioned here that allows for images in the posts.
With this information, you can decide which forum, or forums you want to visit, and maybe even become a regular. It's great fun, and very educational to communicate in this way. Just remember the golden rule, "Do onto others as you wish done onto you."

Arbitrary Quote - I finally came up with a punishment for the boy. First, no leaving the house, not even for school. Second, no egg nog. In fact, no nog period! And third, absolutely no stealing for three months!
